Originally built as a pipe distribution plant in the 1960s, The Plant has been reclaimed as an adaptive reuse landmark in Jackson’s Fondren Warehouse District. Today, it operates as a design studio for experimenting with plant materials and design+build concepts. As a working studio, access to The Plant is by appointment only with limited availability for events.

The site features exposed concrete beams, a sawtooth roof that brings in natural light, and a landscape system designed with native plantings and on-site stormwater management that shifts with the seasons.


Is the building available for rent?

The Plant hosts a limited number of events each year. Availability is selective due to its primary role as a working design studio. All event use is by appointment only and all visits require approval.


What events are a good fit?

The Plant is best suited for design-forward gatherings including cultural events, nonprofit fundraisers, professional convenings, workshops, and private celebrations. A limited number of weddings are considered each year when they align with the design of the site.
